Threaded plug gauges and threaded ring gauges are gauges used to test the dimensional accuracy of threads, and the following are their testing methods:

 Thread Plug Gauge Inspection Methods

 

 Comprehensive inspection method 1 through-end inspection: Select the through-end of the thread plug gauge that matches the specification and tolerance level of the internal thread to be tested. Clean the plug gauge and the measured internal thread surface oil, impurities, etc.. After aligning the through end of the plug gauge with the measured internal thread, use the thumb and forefinger to rotate the plug gauge, so that it can be gently screwed into the internal thread in a free state. If the through end can be smoothly screwed into and through all the length of the thread, it means that the role of the measured internal thread diameter and bottom diameter and other comprehensive dimensions in the range of the largest entity size, preliminary judgment qualified.

 Stop End Inspection: After passing the through end inspection, use the stop end of the thread plug gauge for inspection. The same will be the stop end and the measured internal threads after gently screwed, the stop end should not be completely screwed into the measured internal threads, usually screwed into the thread length of no more than 2 pitches for qualified. If the stop end can be easily screwed in or more than the specified screwing length, it means that the single center diameter and other dimensions of the internal thread under test are beyond the range of the smallest solid size, and the internal thread under test is unqualified.

 Single Inspection Method 4 OD Measurement: Use calipers or OD micrometers to measure the OD of the thread plug gauge and compare the measured value with the standard value to ensure that it meets the design requirements.

 Pitch Measurement: The pitch of the thread plug gauge can be measured by using pitch gauge, compare the measurement result with the standard pitch to check whether it meets the standard requirement.

 Tooth Angle Measurement: The tooth angle of the thread plug gauge can be measured by using the tooth angle measuring instrument to verify the correctness of the tooth angle.

 Thread ring gauge inspection method

 

 Comprehensive inspection method through-end inspection: Select the through-end of the threaded ring gauge that matches the external thread being tested. Clean the measured external thread and the through end of the ring gauge, remove oil, chips, burrs and other debris. Put the through end of the ring gauge on the measured external thread, so that the two axes are correct, and then use the thumb and forefinger to rotate the ring gauge, so that it is in a free state to screw together. If the through-end can be smoothly screwed through the entire length of the external thread being tested, it indicates that the role of the external thread being tested in the role of the center diameter and the bottom diameter and other comprehensive dimensions within the range of the largest entity size, the initial judgment is qualified.

 Stop-end inspection: After the through-end inspection is passed, the stop-end of the thread ring gauge is used for inspection. The stop-end ring gauge will be set on the measured external threads and gently screwed into the axis, under normal circumstances, the stop-end ring gauge can only be screwed into the measured external threads for a certain distance and then stop advancing, generally screwed into no more than 2 pitches. If the stop end can be completely screwed into the tested external thread, it means that the single center diameter and other dimensions of the tested external thread are beyond the range of the minimum solid size, and the tested external thread is unqualified.

 Single detection method of internal diameter detection: put the threaded ring gauge on a suitable mandrel, measure the internal diameter of the threaded ring gauge with calipers or internal micrometer, record the measured value and compare it with the standard internal diameter size, and judge whether it is qualified or not according to the deviation.

 Pitch detection: Fix the threaded ring gauge, measure the pitch with pitch meter or with the help of image measuring instrument and other tools, compare the measurement result with the standard pitch value, check whether the pitch is within the permitted deviation range.

 Tooth angle detection: Use tool microscope or image measuring instrument and other equipment to measure the tooth angle of the threaded ring gauge and compare it with the standard tooth angle to determine whether the tooth angle meets the requirements.
